The role
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an AI Engineer and step into a role where you'll do more than build models, you'll shape how AI is applied at scale to solve real, complex challenges. This is an opportunity to work at the cutting edge, delivering intelligent solutions that drive meaningful impact across critical infrastructure and the communities we serve.
You'll partner with data and business leaders to design, build, and deploy advanced AI solutions from GenAI and automation through to predictive modelling. Alongside delivery, you'll influence how AI is done at Orion. If setting standards, driving adoption, and pushing what's possible all while ensuring solutions are robust, secure, and built for real-world performance spins your wheels, this is the role for you.
Design, develop, test, and deploy AI and machine learning solutions, including data pipelines and model evaluation
Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and ethical standards in all AI solutions
Promote AI and machine learning best practices across the organisation
Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, scientists, and stakeholders to understand business problems and data sources
Bring a deep curiosity and a relentless drive to push boundaries and unlock new opportunities
About you
Demonstrated track record delivering high-impact AI solutions that drive measurable business outcomes
Deep technical expertise in Python, SQL and modern data platforms, with production deployment experience
Ability to simplify complex challenges into elegant, scalable solutions that perform in real-world environments
Proven ability to influence at a senior level, partnering with technical and business leaders to drive adoption
Strong judgement across AI governance, privacy, security and ethical application in a commercial setting
Commercially minded and able to connect AI solutions to value, prioritise effectively and focus on what matters most
