The role

As our Commercial and Engagement Advisor, you will provide support to our Connections Customer Solutions team as they guide major complex customers through the connection process and engage with them to improve their experience when working with Orion. This role requires being across all the detailed commercial aspects of complex connections as well as assisting with the negotiation of commercial contracts with the customers. This role provides commercial and engagement advice from pre-qualification through to approval of connection applications.


  • Support the Customer solutions team as they guide major complex customers through the connection process


  • Identify commercial considerations as part of the pre-qualification process


  • Assist with negotiations for related commercial contracts, and liaise with Orion's Regulatory and Commercial Team, and legal advisers


  • Ensure customer queues and connection statuses are updated and monitored


  • Support the Customer Solutions Manager with delivering the Connections engagement strategy. This will include reporting, organising customer surveys, meetings and events


  • Delivering projects across the Connections group to improve overall Connections customer experience

About you

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to build credible relationships, influence with a customer focused outcome


  • Depth of experience in Electricity Distribution Network preferably in Network Connections or a background in legal advisory or council environment


  • Financial and commercial acumen


  • Proven ability in creating and delivering concise and effective electronic presentations


  • A curious, performance driven and innovative approach with the ability to think outside the box and not be afraid to try new things
