The company
Passionate, curious, and innovative are a few words that describe our people. We are powering the future, connecting communities, and igniting innovation. Orion owns and operates the electricity distribution network that provides power to central Canterbury. As the third largest electricity distribution network in New Zealand, we cover remote rural areas, regional towns, and the city of Christchurch.
We are an essential service and take our responsibilities seriously. We are community owned and working here means a career with meaning and purpose that makes a difference in your very own neighbourhood.
The role
We're looking for a Network Connectivity Coordinator on a 2-year fixed-term contract to help shape how our network labelling services are delivered, for today and into the future. Alongside hands-on field work, you'll contribute to developing smarter systems and streamlined processes that will automate key functions and lift efficiency across the network.
With a background in the electricity or electrical field, you'll be supported with full training, where your attitude and drive to learn will set you apart. This is a highly visible role, with time spent out in the field completing site visits, investigations and audits, directly supporting a safe and reliable network.
Conduct site visits to complete permanent LV and HV circuit labelling post completion of work - replacing labels and templates
Own the low voltage alteration process to ensure accurate mapping, modelling and connectivity for customers on our network
Auditing LV and LV automated systems to reduce potential safety incidents and system failings
Resolve historical labelling inaccuracies
Provide support to the Connections and Works Delivery Teams regarding investigations and site observation functions
About you
Good working knowledge and experience working in the electricity sector with a New Zealand Electrical registration
Ability to look at the big picture and apply robust decision-making processes and communicate that back to the business
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer centric approach
Excellent computer skills with the ability to create and implement processes to automate role based functions
A positive attitude and willingness do things differently
