The role
We're looking for a Payroll and Remuneration Specialist to join our People and Capability team in a part-time role where you'll bring a mix of payroll expertise, remuneration insight, and strong attention to detail.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their day, from supporting fortnightly payroll processing and remuneration reviews through to providing data insights, maintaining system, and helping improve how we work. You'll act as a key support to the Payroll Lead while also playing an important role in ensuring fairness, accuracy and consistency across remuneration frameworks and payroll practices.
You'll be joining a collaborative and supportive team where your expertise will genuinely make an impact.
Supporting the preparation and processing of fortnightly payroll acting as backup to the Payroll Lead when required
Responding to payroll queries and supporting payroll compliance
Assisting with remuneration reviews, benchmarking, and job evaluations
Producing reports, insights, and analysis to support People & Capability activity
Supporting continuous improvement across payroll systems and processes
Maintaining documentation, testing system updates, and identifying automation opportunities
About you
Previous experience in payroll or a generalist HR environment with sound knowledge of NZ payroll legislation and the Holidays Act
Strong organisational and communication skills with a collaborative and positive mindset to create great experiences for our people
High levels of confidentiality and professionalism
Experience using payroll systems such as PayGlobal or similar
Confidence working with data, reporting, and spreadsheets
Experience with remuneration frameworks or job evaluation methodology would be highly regarded
