The role

Making a difference and leading the way in our sector is important to us, and this new role to Orion is a perfect example of that. We are looking for a Programme Manager (Substations and Capital Works) to lead the programme management of our major substations and other significant capital works. This is a fantastic opportunity to make key technical decisions, make things happen and take responsibility for the establishment of work packages and annual programmes as the guardian of our major substation assets.

About you

  • Significant depth of experience in the management, construction and maintenance of Substation, Technical or complex electric power transmission or distribution system contracts or projects

  • Level 6 tertiary qualification in the electrical industry or equivalent knowledge gained through experience

  • Strong personal leadership skills with the ability to motivate, influence and guide others

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the Electricity Act, current Electrical (safety) Regulations, Electrical Codes of Practice and SMEI's

  • Natural ability to connect and collaborate with others where you can convey technical information and ideas to various audiences

  • A curious, pro-active and positive approach with the ability to think outside the box with a customer centric approach

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite including strong knowledge of Excel
