The role
We are a safety conscious business, and this role lies at the very core of that. We are looking for a Public Safety Advisor to provide an essential safety and compliance service across our local communities and the third-party contractors. Making sure people understand safety requirements for working near our assets is critical.
You'll engage and guide to develop actionable solutions to ensure work is carried out in a safe manner while work is completed close to our assets. There will be times where challenging conversations need to happen, so this role isn't for the faint hearted.
Educate and engage with our local community and third-party contractors to raise awareness of relevant safety risks
Develop educational material and coordinate to deliver a program of industry requirements and limitations
Review applications and issue consents for work in terms of safety approach distances to Orions network
Undertake field observations to monitor controls and compliance with consent conditions issued
Investigate incidents where risks have been exposed and prepare incident investigation reports and safety alerts
About you
Depth of knowledge in Electrical Distribution Networks with a proven background in a Public Safety Advisor role
Electrical Trade Certification registration
Ability to interpret and apply technical drawings, standards and safety controls
Knowledge of risk assessments, compliance observations and auditing
An eye for continuous improvement and natural desire to share knowledge and learnings
Strong personal skills and the ability to engage with a non-technical audience with a coaching and supportive approach
