The role
Making sure we get things right is critical to our success, who we are and what we do, our community relies on it. We're looking for a Quality Assurance Coordinator (Overhead) who enjoys being out in the field, working with great people and helping projects run smoothly.
In this hands-on role, you'll be out on-site checking that new overhead network work is completed safely, correctly, and to a high standard. You'll build strong relationships with service providers, our contractors and internal teams.
You'll also support design reviews, provide accurate reporting and play a key part in maintaining a safe, reliable network for our community. Every day brings something different - from audits and inspections to supporting customer enquiries and lending a hand during emergency work situations.
Carry out on-site audits and quality checks across build, livening and post-livening stages
Work with contractors and internal teams to resolve issues and identifying non-compliance
Ensure all work meets standards and design requirements
Keep accurate records and provide regular reporting, updating construction and contract information
Support design reviews with practical field insights, gathering data and sharing observations
Assist customers and support emergency situations when required, while building strong, positive relationships with crews, designers, service providers and stakeholders
About you
Extensive knowledge of electrical network reticulation demonstrating an understanding of electric power distribution systems with a relevant qualification in the electrical industry
Knowledge and understanding of the current safety rules and the NZ regulatory environment and how that applies to the electrical industry
Be practical, solutions-focused mindset with great communication skills
Ability to work well with contractors, crews and internal teams
Knowledge of H&S in Employment Act, Transit NZ Code of Practice for Temp Traffic Mgmt, National Code of Practice for Utility Operators' Access to Transport Corridors and Local Authority Bylaws
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex information to various audiences
A curious and inquisitive mindset with a methodical and customer centric approach to your work
