The company
Passionate, curious and innovative are a few words that describe our people. We are powering the future, connecting communities and igniting innovation. Orion owns and operates the electricity distribution network that provides power to central Canterbury. As the third largest electricity distribution network in New Zealand, we cover remote rural areas, regional towns and the city of Christchurch.
We are an essential service and take our responsibilities seriously. We are community owned and working here means a career with meaning and purpose that makes a difference in your very own neighbourhood.
The role
You've built strong experience in electricity network operations and understand what good operational practice looks like. Now, you might be ready to use that knowledge in a different way.

Working across the classroom, field and wider business, you will:
Deliver classroom and practical training and assessment that supports the development and maintenance of network operating competencies
Work alongside Orion employees in the field, providing coaching and technical guidance that supports safe and effective network operations
Help ensure training and assessments are engaging, relevant and fit for purpose
Apply your field experience as a subject matter expert to improve operating standards, procedures and learning resources
Support the planning and delivery of our annual training and coaching programme
You'll work closely with our field teams, contractors, service delivery partners and other technical specialists, bringing an operational perspective to how we build capability across the network.
